In October 2003, the Republic of Croatia has passed a new Copyright and Related Rights Act.
This page contains the unofficial translation of the Act made by Ksenija Ehrenfreund on the request of State Intellectual Property Office.
During the last few years HDS ZAMP has put much effort in explaining to the general and expert public as well as members of the Parliament, the importance of higher level of protection of authors and their works, as now granted by this new Act. This Act guarantees a higher level of protection of intellectual property, including the more efficient means to implement those rights. The Act also contains several acts given in concordance with the latest international agreements and EU directives, for example the Directive on Harmonisation of Rights in Information Society and the Directive on droit de suite.
