HDS ZAMP is a professional service that deals with the exercise and protection of music copyrights on the basis of the approval of the State Intellectual Property Office and in line with the Copyright Act.

HDS ZAMP is engaged in activities of executing and protecting music copyrights of authors, including:


• the right to perform and present publicly non-dramatic, musical and literary works
  (so called performing rights);



• the right to perform and present publicly dramatic, musical and choreographic works
  (so called grand rights);



• the right to record and mechanically reproduce musical works
  (so called mechanical reproduction rights);



• the right to use musical works in cinematographic and other audio-visual works (so called synchronisation rights) as well as other activities geared at protecting copyright and other related rights within the framework and in compliance with the provisions of the Copyright Act.

HDS ZAMP administers and protects copyrights of approximately 4500 of its regular and associated members and of more than 2 million foreign authors whose works are broadcast and performed on the territory of the Republic of Croatia. This implies that it issues authorisations for all forms of public performance of music on the territory of the Republic of Croatia, collects copyright fees and distributes the collected fees to the authors in the form of royalties.

Realising the importance of education of music-users, as well as general and expert public, in action against illegal use of music works HDS ZAMP is also conducting promotional campaigns. Using various types of promotion of music, its authors and its value, these campaigns are aimed at raising the general publics' knowledge on the importance of music and the harmful effect of its illegal use.

In addition, HDS ZAMP also leases music materials. It stores in its archive music materials of numerous Croatian authors that are an invaluable part of the national heritage. HDS ZAMP is the exclusive representative of the majority of leading foreign publishers as to granting authorisations for the use of written music (scores, piano excerpts, choral partitions and orchestral partitions) on the territory of the Republic of Croatia.
Based on the agreements concluded with the Croatian Performers' Rights Collecting Society (HUZIP) and Croatian Phonographic Association (HDU), HDS ZAMP collects on behalf of these two associations remuneration for copyrights of performers and producers of sound recordings.
HDS ZAMP is a member of CISAC (The International Confederation Of Societies Of Authors And Composers) and BIEM (Bureau International des Societes Gerant Les Droits d'Enregistrement et de Reproduction Mecanique).
